Webbing Slings are manufactured in a variety of man made materials similar to fibre ropes.
They are light in weight and are available in various widths which is an advantage when trying to avoid local damage to a load. The web slings can also be supplied with sleeves as added protection to the sling or the load being lifted. Man made materials are used in their construction as opposed to natural fibres - this is because natural fibres are liable to rot and mildew in damp conditions, and also are not recommended for use in chemical enviroments.
